There are more than 10 million seniors in Canada, and the population continues to grow…

Power in Numbers. Change Through Action

Senior Votes Matter

There is an old saying that when one person cries for injustice, it remains a whisper, but when we cry together, the world listens. Canada’s senior citizen community is strong and getting stronger every day; people are living longer. With over 10 million seniors over the age of 55, this community now has a voice and wants their voices to be heard with their votes. Senior citizen poverty should be everyone’s business. The government alone cannot solve this problem. We, the people, must work together with the government and elect officials to solve the problem of senior poverty. The main political parties have made promises to help seniors live better lives, but they largely focus on fixing long-term care-for-profit homes. Seniors and voters matter too. We, the people at the United Senior Citizens Voice for Change Coalition, understand that when people are well-informed, they make better decisions. The Coalition will mobilize its membership base community to support government and elected political officials who support our mission and objectives, such as a National Tax exemption Grocery Card for low-income Canadian seniors aged 65 and over. When the government and elected officials make promises on the issue of senior poverty, they should be kept. We Will Fight Back at the Ballot Box.
